is a used EOS 500 with ef 35-80 4.5-5.6 and ef 80-200 for $ 300 worth it ?

If it all looks to be in good condition I'd probably say yes.

Remember though that this is all older equipment, and the lenses are at the bottom of the canon range when it comes to quality. The deal isn't fantastic, but if your looking to get started in 35mm it isn't bad.

If you'd rather have new stuff head over to BHphotovideo (or anywhere similar). You can pick up a canon Rebel 2000, with 28-80 lens, brand new for $300. Sure you don't get the 80-200, but you get new equipment and you can pick up a telephoto later on when you are sure you need it.
