Pre-match Sky Shearer tribute

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

Did anyone see this? Slightly over the top package, but nice goal footage and tributes from Van Nistelrooy, Henry, Cole and Ferdinand, of which Cole spoke the least intelligible English.

I thought it was wonderful.....but then I am a sucker for the `Gladiator` thing. (;o) Pete was in stitches....he said I had tears in my eyes and a grin on like a cheshire cat! He doesn`t understand - he`s not a Geordie! (:o))

Felt a bit sorry for Coley with the interviews...yes, he's not the most intelligent bloke in the world (but definitely streets ahead of beckham!) but he did ok....feeling a little sorry for himself mind...

Richard Keys was really trying to make something out of it but Dalglish was doggedly defending the player....jesus does he ever criticise anyone in public?

Dan...agree it was slightly OTT, but it's the sort of thing Sky Sports do really well. And all from a shed next to Tescos, eh?

Was I the only one to be OUTRAGED at the appearance of The Scottish Manager on the SKY program? It was like inviting Bin Laden to witness the newly rebuilt twin towers. A disgrace - I was furious when I saw him on the monitors during the half time interval. "Expert" summariser? I think not.

He provoked plenty of foul language in the pub. Can't think why they perservere with the twat: they spent 10 minutes trying to get him to say whether Gillespie's goal owed more to good attacking or poor defending and they couldn't get any sense out of him at all. Some rumour is flying about that he is taking over at Preston or something - can't bloody wait!

ahh but jonno... if you really do learn from mistakes then he surely is an expert now!

Bin Laden analogy perhaps a tad unfair, Jonno, given that despite having departed three and a half years ago, four of KD's signings were part of last night's 11, and two of those would be in most fans' top 5 Toon players of the season.

runs off behind rock, shuts eyes, puts fingers in ears and waits for blast

Personally I thought it was grossly OTT and that might be 3 points on my poetic licence I would imagine. :-)

Still very angry to see him on SKY on such a great night for the Toon.

I hardly noticed he was there! Had MUCH more important things on my mind. ;-)))

i thought it added to the pleasure! here you go kenny, this is how it's done...

mind you the passing in the last 10 minutes was pure KD

Since the tash has soft spot for Preston, Softie's remark more vitriolic than first reading suggests. 2 birds with one stone, eh?

agree totally with you Jonno

In fact even without his fortunately severed ties with us I can't understand why Sky use him. 99% of the viewers can't understand a word he says.
