Anybody from the Spanish squad got any tips. I've got a guide book and map.

We get there Sunday evening so we have Monday & Tuesday @ play and then fly back midday ish on Wednesday.

Depends on what yer into. 2 days isn't a lot and you'll be pushed to squeeze in the 'must-see' tourist sights, La Sagrada Famila, Las Ramblas etc. Your lass will probably want to get lost in the shops anyway...

Drop me an email if you like and I'll give you my mobile number. We can meet up and I'll at least make sure you avoid the worst restaurants. Don't know if Swift will be back here by then but he's usually up for a pint...

Tell your lass that you're taking her to a museum - that just happens to be attached to the Camp Nou !

Actually it's a fantastic display of all types of memorabilia, posters from down the yearsetc, so unless she's deadset against foota then I can heartily recommend it. No need to pay the extra for the ground tour unless you particularly want to as the museum pass also allows you into the main stand for views across the fantastic stadium.

Other than that I'd just recommend you wander around and soak it all up, seeing as you don't have all that long. As well as the place s already mentioned Gaudi's Parc Guell is also very funky for a couple of hours. Have a good trip Josh

thats nice josh, i'd suggest you go to 'Els Cuatre Gats' restaurant for some good food in a classy place (picasso's gaff) You could try his museum too. I'd stay well clear of Stevie though, it sounds as though he's got the flu! seriously, it would be great to hook up. But i have a feeling that someone in a skirt won't fancy it... It doesn't matter if you don't get all of it though, you'll be back there for the CHAMPS LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Josh agree with LT. The museum at the Nou Camp is excellent. Spent a pleasurable Birthday a couple of years ago in the area. Stayed in Sitges "ever so nice luvvy" old BR haunt and despite Gay reputationit was very relaxing.

My one day in Barcelona took in a tourist bus ride, walk up the Ramblas with lunch then wife and kid dragged to NC.

Gave up with the city after that and went back to the pool and the beach.

Must go back as there was so much that I missed.

Have a great time...watch out for drunken Geordies..

Josh - I went to Barcelona last summer and loved the place. Get the missus into El Corte Ingles which is a huge, 9 floor department store in Place Catalunya!

Best sights are definitely the Nou Camp and the Sagrada Familia although the Picasso museum is well worth a visit - I never realised he painted proper pictures in his early life till I went there!

The best way to get a feel for the city is to go to the Place Catalunya and get on one of the tourist buses - Bus Turistica - there is a red route and a blue route round the city which takes you to all the key sights - you pay for one or two days and can get on and off the bus as many times as you like in that period.

La Ramblas is a must - the street performers there are brilliant - you pay good money for far worse in the theatre at times.

Also - when you get to the airport, there is a dead good bus service straight into the city which drops off right in the centre. Darn sight cheaper than the taxis if you want to save your euros for something more worthwhile.

Where are you staying by the way?

I'm sure you'll enjoy it immensely. Best of luck!

Thanks guys - we're in the Via layentala (os something like that) 400yds from the Ramblas.

I'm certain we'll enjoy ourselves.
