Do They Still Publish The Country Journal Magazine ??

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

The other day I thought to look for The Country Journal magazine in Barnes & Nobles. They didn't have it on their "list" so couldn't tell me if it was any longer printed. Clicked on the web page and didn't find one there...does anyone know if they are still in business ?? Remember getting it in the past and it did have some good gardening information. Looking forward to any help !! Have a Nice Evening !!!

Helena, I searched for it last year and finally saw something on a website that it folded as of April 2001. A real shame as I loved the Mag. They were substituting Horticulture Mag in it's place. Not quite the same! Hope this helps.

I liked it a lot too, and yes, it's gone.

I spotted another magazine on the newstand recently that I thought had died. Harrowsmith Country Life is still being published in Canada.

It's not like the early Harrowsmiths although it still has country oriented articles.

I wondered about them, too, as I had been buying issues off the stand, but couldn't find them the last time I looked. It is sad, because they underwent a change - I remember that they started placing cigarette ads, & a lot of their readers wrote in that were ticked off. Seemed to go against the grain of what their magazine was promoting. Sort of like the Kraft ads that popped up in "OG". Don't know if the change started the downfall, but it was a neat magazine.
