I thought it was referring to Bryan Robson, but he hasn't gotten a job since leaving Boro, has he?

So what was Robson Greene doing, that he got sacked? There's been a drought on his series/movies over here. I need a new fix! :-)

He hasn't been sacked by ITV. They've just said they won't renew his "golden handcuffs" deal when it runs out, which means he can work for the BBC as well as ITV. With ITV companies finding times are tough, and TV regulators complaining about too few stars in too many roles, the old "handcuffs" deals appear to be things of the past.

There are two drama projects starring wor Robson which have still to be screened by ITV1 and he says he will still work for them in future - as well as other channels.

Ananova last week:

ITV has ended its exclusive "golden handcuffs" deal with actor Robson Green.

He has instead signed a contract until 2004, which will allow him to appear in shows on other channels.

Green has appeared in a string of popular dramas for ITV, including 'Grafters' and 'Touching Evil'.

Subsequent dramas, however, such as 'Close and True' and 'The Last Musketeer', received mixed reviews.

His most recent role was as a husband drawn into a world of wife- swapping parties in 'Take Me'.

Green signed to ITV at the end of 1997 on a multi-million pound rolling two-year contract.

ITV insists that both the channel and Green are happy with the new contract.

The deal was struck several months ago but details have only just emerged.

A spokesman said: "Robson Green continues to play an important role for ITV drama. He has a new two-year contract and a number of shows lined up.

"The new arrangement is good for Robson, securing his long-term future with ITV but also allowing him to work on other projects which interest him."

Yahoo! Now if PBS in America would pull their collective fingers out and get some of his more recent efforts(they could start with the last season of Grafters), I'd be very happy. :-)
