Ha! Rudergirl loves Allison. She's living in Gasden though, I think, not B'ham.

Happy Monday, jags.

Or happy Tuesday, at this point.

We've got some quiet MATHletes this week.

-- Anonymous, April 23, 2002

I'm just busy with everything -- we're also buying an apartment, and while the wedding planning thus far has been mostly Sima and her mom, I'm the one who is dealing with the mortgage people. And man. They want documentation of everything.

It's nutty.

-- Anonymous, April 23, 2002

You ARE? That's so exciting! Where are you looking? Or did you already find it?

-- Anonymous, April 24, 2002

We found it. It's an apartment in Bethesda.

We both really wanted a townhouse, but housing prices are insane. We figure we'll just stick with an apartment, build equity and save some money, and then try and get something bigger in a couple of years.

That is very exciting! How many rooms is it?

Oooh, mortgages. I am horrified at the mention of that word. We'll be doing some sort of buying sooner or later, and I fear it.

Do you think Sima has time to plan my wedding, too? Because I hate it very, very much. I shudder to think how the dress shopping is going to go.

And how about this - the place I want to have the reception doesn't allow dancing indoors. They have a huge wraparound porch that they let people dance on, but the wedding is December 14. Now, last year, the weather in December was gorgeous. It was like, 75 or something. Then in snowed three weeks later. But, who knows? Will we have a blizzard on my wedding day? Possibly.

So, there may be no dancing. Will that make the reception boring? Maybe so. Do I care? I gotta tell you, not so much. There will be plenty of food, booze and music so... what's the problem?

But Chris was like "My white trash Jersey relatives are going to wonder why there's no dancing..."

So y'all are going to take Rhodes? Yay!

I'm at Kinko's and some jag printed the world's longest document and I'm pissed.

-- Anonymous, April 24, 2002

Well, it's a bedroom, a large room that sort of splits between a living room and a dining room (there's no wall in between, but there's a clear separation, if that makes any sense) and a kitchen. And a couple of walk-in-closets.

Oh, and a bathroom.

-- Anonymous, April 24, 2002

And see, now I'm a bad person because I'm picking a fight with WG just for the sake of making my day more interesting, and that's not right.

-- Anonymous, April 24, 2002

Oh no Mike, it is right. I was just coming to tell you I looo....mmmmed you anyway.

So this means you'll be living in Maryland again, eh? Is that closer to Sima's school?

-- Anonymous, April 24, 2002

Yeah, I think A&F will be OK. You don't get to be a zillion dollar company by just randomly offending ethnic groups on purpose.

It is nearer to Sima's school, and it's actually a little nearer to my office because it's right off the highway. But I doubt I'll be here too much longer anyway, so I didn't really worry about that when we were looking around.

They're so easily riled.

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

What, specifically, are they riled about now? That link takes me to the main board.

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

Oh really? It's the True Love Waits thread in the sex section. It's like there's this giant bandwagon that they all ride.

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

Y'all? Do I sound like a racist idiot on the A&F thread?

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

Well, I'm sort of biased because I know that the creations of those shirts were just off the mark and stupid, not racist. So I totally get where you're coming from. I think the MOC made a good point with his military training comment re: intentions are for shit if someone gets offended. THAT'S the real argument.

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

Yeah, and I think he's absolutely right and that I don't get to make the decision on if the shirt's offensive.

I just think that people are always eager to pile on when a corporation screws up. I'm really glad Keli brought up the Ocean City boardwalk stores ... because she's right, nobody says anything about what they sell, which is pretty much tasteless.

WG made an excellent, and as concise as possible, post. The world will surely stop turning.

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

I think that's the first post ever where I thought "She's exactly right."

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

Here's what I love about Mike - He's able to clearly state his opinion and make really good thoughtful points without ever seeming like he's in a tizzy. Sometimes you can just tell that the people posting are all out of breath and huffy even though it's all just words.

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

Um, i.e. - Meloonsa. I didn't even read her whole post. (on squishettes) It was too long, but how did someone who takes point a and gets poing j EVER get her J.D.????

-- Anonymous, April 25, 2002

I am a HORRIBLE PERSON, but ... one guess as to who wrote:

dar meghan,

i don't understand. i don't underatand how you could be so selfish. did you think of who might find you? it was robert. he went to wake you up because you're normally out of the house by 6:30 and your car was still there at 7:30. he was ready to yell at you for not waking up but instead he found you cold and blue. he's only 8, megs. i don't understand why you chose this. life sucks sometimes but there is absolutely no excuse to get away from it by killing yourself. i don't understand how your family will make it through this. i feel like i can't make it through this. i'll love you forever.

Angel of Deathiffer?

-- Anonymous, April 26, 2002

Mike - I love how that one chick is all pissed off because you're calling her on the "average age" thing. Get over it. The average age is young. Suck it up.

-- Anonymous, April 26, 2002

I mean, now she's just pissing me off. I feel like I'm butting my head against a wall. And I don't really care, except that I think she's skewing the numbers to fit her theories dishonestly, and I hate hate hate HATE that.

Of course, the mystery poster was the Angel of Deathiffer.

And she's only 18. Who knew?

-- Anonymous, April 26, 2002

Mayn! RowEn *closed* that thread. I think I might email her on that. WTF is that about?

-- Anonymous, April 26, 2002

You know, when did everyone there become the same person, intolerant of any new belief? I have no love for Heith (no hatred either, but no love), but I feel like I have to have his back even if I don't entirely agree with him because I think he's right -- he is being baited into saying something he'll regret.

BTW, I think he and Holly were going out at one point, but are not now.

I'm sort of surprised rowEn hasn't asked me to call it a night already.
