Around here lately- Monday morning...

Hi everyone! I haven't had much of a chance to be on here the last several days. It is cold and rainy here in SE Ohio, quite a switch from last week, when "global warming" seemed real! Oh well, such is April, completely unpredicatable...

Well we had the yard sale. We started selling stuff Friday night and did not stop until Saturday evening about 7:00. We had a good time, met a lot of nice people, and made almost $300 ourselves. So we were quite happy with the results. Cale had so many people "touring" the house, he should have charged a dollar each for that!! He loves to show people around and talk, so it was a great day for him!!!! By evening he said his jaws hurt from talking so much. One of my elderly relatives said about him once that he has "never met a stranger" and that is so true. He treats eveyone with respect and friendship and he can start a converstion with anyone about anything. What a guy!!! It was fun to show people around and meet so many new people. Several people offered us slate for our projects and several others want some furniture built as well, so all in all it was an extremely productive day...

The auction down the road also went well. The folks who sold out had lived there for 58 years, so it was a sad day for their family, and when I saw Tom's old tractor being hauled away, I must admit to a few tears myself. We did get a chance to run down to the auction for a little while, leaving the girls in charge here. It is just as much a social occassion as a buying opportunity, and we were able to catch up with a lot of people we had not seen for a while...

Went to see my grandmother yesterday at the nursing home. She is in a lot of pain, and the medication is not helping much. I just keep hoping that something will work, but so far it has not made much difference.

We had a 4-H meeting last night, all of the kids have their project books, so we really need to get started on those.

Megan is going to camp this week with her class. They stay for 4 days. I wish it had been last week when it was nice, as it is supposed to be cool this week. Megan will enjoy it, she likes school and has a lot of really nice friends.

Well I gotta go! I have a lot of clenaing to do today, it was rainy all weekend and there is enough mud here I could scream!!! In a way I am glad it was rainy, because there would have been a LOT of dust with the hundreds of trucks that were up and down the road over the weekend...

Have a nice day...

Sat. Jack and Mildred Bunyard(from these forums) came to visit and brought lots of plants and went home with lots of seeds. We always have a great time with these people, they brought a son with them, really nice guy, Jack loves our barns. We also played Hangaroo-I got it as an e-mail. It's like hangman only with a smart mouthed kangaroo.

Today I'm finally making the violet and dandylion jelly, if the infusions ever thaw and hopefull weeding the garlic bed. We had a ton of rain yesterday so I can't mulch the broccoli or the peas, I odn't have time to visit China.
