Dust inside my EOS 300

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Canon EOS FAQ forum : One Thread

First, let me tell you I am new to photography and I have only had my camera a short time, so I do not know some camera terms. Now here is my problem - I keep getting dust and lint on the inner part of my camera - behind the lens - so I have junk all over when I look through the eyepiece to take my photo. I do NOT remove my lens very often, just once in a while to change lenses and that is it. Does anyone else have this problem and what is the best way to clean inside? I have the manual, but it does not say how to clean that part. Any ideas of how I can prevent this from happening would be appreciated as well. Thank you in advance for your help.

It's dust on the focusing screen and mirror and it will not affect your photos. You can remove some of it with a bulb blower but be gentle and don't touch the mirror or focusing screen surfaces. There's no way to prevent this from happening--it's a result of normal use.
