Threw his shirt in the crowd yesterday during the Shearer celebrations after the game ended. (He might have given it to a disabled fan maybe)

This is a trait of someone who is about to leave - Ferdinand, Bassedas, Ketsbaia, and others have all done it. Could this be the end for Distin, or was he just being friendly to a fan?

That's what I thought. I really hope not! He was outstanding yesterday.

He actually threw it to a woman 3 rows infront of me. This little kid tried to pull it out of her hand but was unsuccessful.

The only real other explanation to why Distin might have done this. Is that it may be worth a bit of money one day as It was one of the shirts used in a match where a player scored his 200th league goal and where Newcastle scored there 5000 goal at SJP.

Hopefully this is why. I wouldn't be suprised if he'd been asked to do this by somebody like BR as he was a lot of peoples MOTM.

But if it wasn't for this reason then I fear he might be leaving.

Barton threw his shirt into the crowd...what...2 seasons ago? FA Cup match, I think? Can't remember the exact one, but .com mention it every once in awhile as one of them caught it. Maybe Distin was just very happy at the result. It happens sometimes. ;-)
