Leica M Photographer -- Madagascar

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

The April issue of PDN includes an article about Pierrot Men of Madagascar. He has some wonderful B&W photos of his country. He says he photographs everything that makes his heart vibrate with a Leica M6, which he won in a contest in SF: “My Leica M6 . . . is condemned to my neck. It never leaves me. It is a part of me – body and spirit. I photograph very quickly, pushed by an instinctive reflex.”

Really good stuff. Thanks.

I've seen Men's work before. Great stuff. And I think the "contest" that he won the M6 was the Mother Jones Documentary Photo Fund.

In particular i like image number 2 and image number 4, and image number 13 but all the work is great. I can tell that the photographer takes his camera with hm whereever he goes, and he seems to go a lot of places. He really captures he spirit of this place.
