I have 30 year old, reel to reel, home movies. Can they be put on VHS tape? Will they be too old or brittle to bother?

I know that there is such a thing as a tape-to-vhs converison box (I dont know the exact name of it) that has 2 glass lenses and mirror inside. My dad bought one years ago for like $90. You play the projector into one of the lenses of the box, and place a video camera at the other lense of the box. The image is projected into the box, bounces of a mirror and then enters the camera lense.

You can record the movie on the camera, or you can have a camera with a "pass through" feature, allowing the image to pass through it to a connected VCR (which will be recording the movie). I have seen it work and it works quite well.

Finding such a box these days may be difficult though. I dont even know what its called.

Hope that sends you in the right direction Bryan
