CDV or VSD ?

Is there anyway that I can make a cd in a format to view on my Laserdisc Player. I have a Sony MDP-800 that says you can play CDV and VSD formats. Any info would be appreciated.

May be can't play at all. Sorry about the feed back. In LaserDisc on CDV and VSD is based on some LD format. Like some LD can paused the disc in 1 frame. View in frame by frame. Older days LD disc can't do that.

LaserDisc is analogue video. VCD and DVD are digital video. You can't play digital video formats on LaserDisc players, unless it is a multi- player like some second-gen Pioneer players specifically designed to play LaserDiscs, VCDs and DVDs. CDV is a variant of CD where the video is analogue like that of LaserDisc. The only concession to digital where LaserDisc is concerned is audio, which is mostly normal PCM 44K/16bit/stereo. Most people wrongly conclude that just because something is read by a laser the whole ersatz is digital through and through. So dump that dinousaur and get a by now $150 DVD player.

Laserdisc audio blows dvd away. That DVD compression has an unnatural quality about it. Stick with Laser. Buy a cheapo DVD for the new releases unavailable on Laser. Long live the laserdisc.
