The old Boundary tree stands all alone at the edge of the field--void of any foliage for the last 15 years or so. It's a huge tree with the trunk about 6' in diameter and it's old dead limbs, themselves as large as tree trunks, protrude toward heaven Nary a tree is closeby nor any houses or other buildings. This was the corner marker, boundary tree, of a long since dead family who owned the farm. No modern tractors had ever farmed it when those folks owned it. Mules were the "modern" farm equipment used on it. Those old mules could be seen standin under that huge boundary tree, in the shade, about 50 years ago.

Down the road a mite west stood the old Worrell store of years gone by. The structure is still standing but all those housed between the Tree and the store are a memory too. The Conservative Christian Church [South Freedom] is still very much alive a thriving. I think the attendance has now risen to 8 or 9 souls--up from the 4 of a few years ago.

The modern world of "progress" has seemed to almost totally erase any indication of past farm families. Well--maybe not but they sure did try it. The newer, younger generation that were raised in the cities and towns have decided there is more to life than a paycheck--which quickly is gone! Peace and tranquility abound in the country. That's why folks move out in the "sticks"! Mobile homes-new and old, are acceptable housing for those who just can't stand another day in town and can't affort to build a house in the "sticks".

I was talkin to the REA folks today. They were replacing poles alongside my farm that had been there for almost 50 years. I told'm to dump the old ones on my farm if they were just wantin to get rid of'm. The forman said "Why sure"! He also told me that Mr Lazy Hogfarmer, who lost almost 500 head of hogs in the "sewage drowning" last week---he's supposed to clean up the houses and get more hogs next week! I wonder if he will take care of'm like he did the last ones!! Sure hope somebody keeps an eye on'm.

We are appointed once to die and then the judgment. We all will spend eternity somewhere. Heaven or hell---the choice is up to us!! I chose heaven over 40 years ago and am still so joyful I have a hard time containing myself! God is so Good!!!!!! old hoot gibson. Matt.24:44
