Good pocket holster bag for m6?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Hi all Does anyone know of a good small bag (camera or not) that can take a m6 with 35 cron, going in vertically like a gun holster and fastened around the right side of the waist?? Of course I would the bag to be as small as possible as well. Im forever trying to find an ideal solution for carrying my m6 so that its confortable (and hidden) when not in use, but can be rapidly retrieved when I want to use it. Maybe Abrahamson or the maker of the Sling can make one!

There are a slew of small vertical bags with belt loops made for digital video camcorders, one of them should be the right size for your application. A trip to a well-stocked camera store should turn up something you can use.

Karl, I already reserached this on my own (i wanted holster, like the ones for a gun or your travel documents, it doesn't exist) I ended up buying an OP TECH bag which are great for a m6/35 combo. cheap too, about $20.

so easy -- the fogg m6 pouch (or piccolo or harp or whatever those goofballs are calling it these days). tamarkin has the full line as does (i think) senor ken hansen. great bags, last forever, built better than my wife's coach purse but costs 1/3 as much.

Billingham AVEA 5 pocket, straps to the belt, rain proof, shock proof, fits a Leica M perfectly

I have been contemplating the Avea cases, will have to check them out. Thanks

Hi,

Here is for a different approach to the neverending search for the *ideal* camera bag: I like the "nested" setup, starting with a Lowe-Pro Film Organizer http://www.helixphoto.com/CameraBags/lowepro/ LPField.html which will hold an M body and two lenses, some film and extras, comes with a shoulderstrap, incorporated waterprotection and attaches to the belt, too. It is extremely lightweight and compact and... is easily stored *inside* any larger camera bag like the Lowe Pro Reporter for instance in order to form the center piece of a more complete choice of equipment! Thus, when out for a stroll you may chose to just grab the basic equipment and leave the rest at home or in the hotel. I found this technique to be very flexible. For a different housing approach you might as well check out the TUMI Small Messenger bag which I like for built quality and looks. Holds the core Lowe Pro Film Organizer plus a lot of extras and doubles as a very elegant gent's purse. Cheers.
