Just what is happening to Alan Irvine?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

We were told some months ago that highly-regarded Academy Director/Coach, Alan Irvine was "rather reluctantly" leaving to join the FA Coaching Staff. However, Teamtalk are now reporting that Everton Manager, David Moyes, has approached Irvine to join him at Goodison Park as part of his backroom staff!

Moyes is quoted as saying "We have made an approach to Newcastle United for Alan Irvine and I'd like to make him part of the staff. He's a very good coach who is very well thought of and somebody who I've known for a long time. He would be of great benefit to us and all I've got to do now is wait for a response from both Newcastle and from Alan."

Yet again, something smells distinctly fishy in the Kingdom of Toon!

Sounds more like Moyes has not read the memo about Irvine's move to the FA. If so, rather embarrassing for David.
