Need a 35 - 80 zoom lens

I an studying photography and realised after a lens tst that i have fungus through my current normal lens. i need to find another lens, in australia and at uni prices HELP1

Sorry, but I can't imagine anyone needing a 35-80mm Canon lens. They weren't good to begin with and age hasn't helped them at all.

The best lens for a low price is Canon's 50mm f/1.8. It looks & feels cheap and it isn't a zoom, but it is sharp and compact, with a fast aperture. If you really want a zoom, save up for Canon's 24-85 USM or the 28-105 USM. They are about the best deal in a decently priced zoom lens. Buy a used one to save more money.

I don't know anything about camera stores in Australia, but there are dealers in the USA that will ship there. B&H Photo Video and Adorama are both reputable dealers in New York. Also check out KEH for good used prices.
