That's the URL for the pic. Now, how does one go about getting that sort of effect, or "Feel" to a photograph, especially the background for that matter.

When this picture is not digitally manipulated, it seems to be a lith print (normal negative, print developed in special lith print developer) Anton Corbijn made furore with this technique

The backdrop is a standard painted cloth used by portratists.

Zach, I would do that by making a digital negative and then [as March says] lith contact printing it.

Ok I'm lost.... I understand the lith print part of it, and I'm sure that's probably next to impossible to find. Although I can mimmick it sort of with some programs I have.

The digital negative part has me lost. I guess I should have stated that I was an amateur so everyone could speak on my level :)

Except the background, i have textures etc.. but only have so many available to me, where would I go about retrieving something like that?

Hi Zach, take a look at this site & then follow the link to Dan Burkholder's site. http://christianharkness.tripod.com/digitalnegative.html

Zach, I don't know what you mean by the lith printing 'being impossible to find.' If you punch in 'lith printing' on a search engine, you will come up with loads of good info. You can also write me.

Looks like a print from Stu Williamson's book 'Concept to Print'. The desription of the method is in the book.
