The price of Mulch in MD/ PA

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I am thinking of ways to make money hauling items north. I have a source of bulk quanity bagged pine bark mulch (shredded or nuggets, but shredded more often). My question is: what is the retail price of shredded bark mulch in Maryland or so. PA, if anyone noticed the last time they were at the store. This would be: bagged, 2.0 cubic feet per bag, about 40 or 60 pound bags, depentant upon moisture content. Thanks in advance!

Kevin, The sale ads come out in Wednesday's paper. I'll look tomorrow and bring you up to date.

Kevin, I looked in all the ads in the paper past three days. Seems the "in" thing is garden mixes, lawn fertilizers and feeds, and miracle grow stuff. I could only find one ad for mulch - - that was in a Home Depot flyer - and it was $2.00 per bag. Even Lowe's ad didn't have mulch.

Sorry I was NO help!

Kevin,

I can't give you the prices for what you want.

I get my mulch at the county dump for FREE.

If I remember correctly, non-bagged bulk mulch can be $12/cu yard depending on the kind.

Now, pine needles might be in demand up here. I used to rake up mounds and mounds of them in FL at my grandmother's house and gave them away to a neighbor who gardened. At the time I had no idea of their potential value.
