ARE VCDs CODED? PROBLEMS PLAYING VCDs ON MY DVD playerD

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Video CD : One Thread

Hi, I have a portable Sharp DV-70tv DVD player. Its DVD coded for region 2 (Japan). I picked up a stack of VCDs in asia and half of them dont work. I was wondering if it because my DVD is not code free. Would my problems be solved if I were to make it code free?

Also, are VCDs coded?

Need to know!!!

THANKS!!!

hi remember that you PAL and NTSC that could be the reason. you have to anmount the VCDs and convert them to you system TV PAL/NTSC you need MPGtool (dat-mpg) tmpgenc (mpg-mpg use the templates that you need) vcdeasy (to create vcd and burn to cd/you can create chapters) by 2man
