..... must be why he was cr@p on Saturday.

If that's true it's an absolute bargain. It's aboot time we got someone without having to pay through the nose for them...

I agree, a good price for a player with a lot of potential.

A question, do we have to pay VAT on domestic signings?

Nein - ze vear and tear comes after they've joined us.

That's centre back sorted, Bernard for left back with options for Hughes & Griffin meaning we don't need to buy anyone else.

Paul, my mate got a framed copy of the sale reciept for Alan Shearer from Blackburn and that has about 2.5Mil in Vat on the bottom. Guess I'm saying the answers yes.

Just had another thought that sales between countrie (ie the invoices for our company importing goods) don't have any Vat on, so the answers probably no.

VAT is an irrelevance is it not for a company like NUFC? The only people who actually get to pay any VAT are the end consumers - presumably part of the cost of our tickets is VAT which NUFC remits to Customs and Excise after deducting VAT they have paid on their own purchases (including transfer fees). If VAT is not payable on our tickets then Customs and Excise would return any VAT paid by the Toon on it's purchases anyway. I believe the net effect of VAT on almost all companies is zero.

Aye that's what I though but I wasn't sure.

Andy, did this receipt have £15m including the VAT or excluding, otherwise we've been lied to about the actual price.

£15Mil excluding VAT. Total was in fact around £17.6 Million. Can't be bothered to ask the exact amount. I think there's also some other charges for transfer of registrationand stuff. If I can I'll see if he'll let me borrow it and get it scanned so you can have a look.

I had hold of a photocopied bank statement from Asprilla, he spent £3200 at Universal Cinemas I think it was, £38,000 in wages were put into his account that month.

They had that on nufc.com Paul, it was the Disney Store where he spent a fortune.

Apparently, Olympiakis are now interested in Distin. The PSG Chairman is pally with the Greek Club's Chairman and has tipped him the wink - presumably he's trying to get a bigger transfer wedge than he's due from the Toon!

Une autre Grenouille tosser!

Maybe clarky, but he will only get more money if we do not buy. YBR has stated that the price is fixed if we want him.

We could offer them Dabs or at a real pinch Marcelino!

I think we're straying into believe-it-when-you-see-it country Clarky.

Not saying it ain't so, but it does sound like another try on, although I'd be inclined to give Distin TBOTD and lay it at the door of PSG.

What can Olypiakos offer him that we can't ? If it was a Spanish or Italian club, I might be more concerned.

And anyway, we already have his replacement languishing in the reserves. In fact it's probably been Marcy at the root of this all along, rather than PSG. :-{E}
