Hi, my 3 yr old female poodle,is in heat or so everyone says. She is bleeding when she urinates , a neighbor informed me that ' if the female poodle is in heat and doesn't have babies, she could get tumors in her uterus, unless spaded .My poodle has not been spaded. Is this true,if so,what must I do? Do I breed my dog, spade it?Please let me know as soon as possible,it worries me to think she could get a tumor or be in pain.

Thank You,

Unless your dog is an outstanding specimen, and you intend to breed her to a top dog to improve the breed, it is better to have her spayed. This will prevent uterine infections, ovarian, and cerivical cancers. If the dog is spayed before her first heat, it also prevents breast cancer.
