LLL's Goal Celebrations

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Unofficial Newcastle United Football Club BBS : One Thread

While BR has officially gone with triple somersault regarding LLL's goal celebrations, you could see LLL wasn't use to celebrating goals in the Premiership when he got confuse trying to jump over the advetising board on his way to the fans. Luckily for him, Dyer was there to show him how it's done by getting to the fans first instead of LLL. Anyone got a video of Kets attacking play on the advertising boards for LLL?

I thought it was great to see Dyer and Jenas dive into the crowd like that. I know it's 'bad form' and potentially bookable but they're only young lads and it was great to see their enthusiasm.

Diving in the crowd will help them - particularly Jenas - become attached to the fans and want to do well for us. All good stuff.

Yes, I noticed that too Lynda. I was a little disturbed by KD's low key celebration of his goal v Fulham, and have felt he has been rather aloof recently. However, it was wonderful to see KD, JJ and Lx3 instinctively "bonding" with their fans yesterday.

I heard a rumour that Shearer and Dyer aren't the best of friends for one reason or another. I wonder if this has anything to do with his low key celebration against Fulham, despite the fact that Shearer was the first one to congratulate him.

Where did you hear that KD and Al aren't the 'best of friends'? They always congratulate each other well when one of them scores a goal. In fact Dyer doesn't usually go mad about celebrating his goals at the best of times (yesterday excepted!). Recently he has mimed that gold shot at the corner flag.

There's always stuff flying around about who gets on with who and who doesn't. Sounds like more rumour to me.

There was the well-documented hostility between Shearer and Sutton when both were at Blackburn but it didn't stop them being sh*t hot together on the pitch. There are some folk at work who I'm not "best friends" with but it doesn't stop me doing me job. Media crap.

Exactly, Jacko. The photo stuck on the wall by my desk of Dyer jumping on Shearer's back each trying to out-grin the other after Shearer scored at Arsenal in December is not a product of Photoshop. They may well not have much in common off the pitch, but doesn't mean they can't play well together on it.

I couldn't care less if they were at daggers drawn off the pitch. All I want to see is 100% commitment on it. And we got that yesterday (albeit belatedly).

As for LuaX6's celebrations, obviously all those years in ballet school weren't wasted...he's starting to earn my admiration, y'kna

My Economics teacher's brother (Simon Bird) works for the Mirror, reports on the north east games usually.

Anyway, he said that Dyer and Shearer "hate each other"

I find it hard to believe myself, but that's what I was told.

Despite that, it shouldn't matter as they are both professionals being paid a lot.

Sheringham and Cole at Manure won the treble together and they didn't get on, so I don't think it matters.

I still don't really believe it about Dyer and Shearer though, I reckon it's bollocks.

By the way, this Simon Bird fella is a Newcastle fan, born and bred in either Ashington or Cramlington (can't remember which).

Although the gussette has not been to England she still refers to NUFC as "us" and "we". We were watching the match together, when we got the winner I went mental, as soon as she saw LLL go into orbit she did too!

Wasn't Mr Bird at Bedlington High School (for Young Offenders) called Peter?

-- Anonymous, April 14, 2002

Aye..he was...remember now

Didnt think he would stoop so low as to write for the gutter press

Still a sound bloke and good teacher (compared with most at BYOI;-)

-- Anonymous, April 15, 2002

Nah he's not called Peter, Jonathan I think his name is, but he might have a brother.

Oh no - anyone else on the BBS with Bedlington HS skeletons in their closets? Thought I was the only one. It's called Bedlington Community High School now apparently. Makes it sound like they've got metal detectors on the doors... which then again maybe they have....

Talking of Mr Bird's at my old school there was a teacher of the same surname who looked the double of Father Jack (from Father Ted) and drove to school in a caravan/car thingy (a carravette???)

Finally got to see the highlights...great goal celebration! Also funny to watch Jenas and Dyer pulling him over the advertising hoarding and into the crowd :-)

Another brilliant moment is when they showed Satan looking murderous sitting in the stands after being sent off. You could nearly see the smoke coming out of his ears! I'm still laughing at that one.
