Subway violinist

I miss the postings on this forum - hope it's still alive. So here's one of mine. Kind of an odd composition, but there weren't many choices from where to shoot.

I don't think there's anything odd with the composition. I think this is very beautiful.

What a wonderful photograph. Absolutely terrific.

Very nice - there is something calming and soothing over this one, I can almost hear her playing the violin and the echo in the hall. I particularly like the bare feet, her shadow and the fact that she is standing in the center of the circle draws my attention to her.

Thanks for the kind words. I took this last Saturday.

She's a wonderful violinist and the acoustics in the station (San Francisco BART) were extraordinary. When someone would drop a couple of dollars in her case, she would give one to the man in the wheelchair - very generous.

I agree, it's not easy to make a composition work where the two main points of interest are at opposite ends of the frame. But this works quite well. My only suggestion would be to crop the ceiling - I think it gives the circles on the floor more weight, and they serve to tie the composition together. I also like the shadows on the floor! Nice work.
