I recently saw an ad for a '71 GTO with a 400 Y S motor. Does anyone know what the Y S stands for?

a 1971 gto with a 400 ys motor was a 300 h.p. 400 cu. in motor.

tony, check out a 71 gto tempest service manual.Mine is a 70 gto so the motor 400 ys would be rated as per the book at 350 h.p., auto,4 barrel,10:1 compression,camshaft #9779067{P},distributor # 1111148,standard dual valves and large valve cylinder heads. Hope this helps.
