Billing mistakes: I've seen companies overpay thousands as a result of billing mistakes. Each month, compare telecom invoices to contracted rates. Most companies glance at invoices to make sure that the current amount is "close to" the previous month's amount. The problem is that the previous month's amount was also "close to" the month before. Before long, the company is paying 10 to 30 percent more than its contracted price.
