A possible appearance?

The only chance of Chops turning out on the pitch is if we're leading by 3 goals or a desperate injury to Cort or Shearer.

Now if that's not tempting fate...

how will we know if Cort is injured ?

He'll find it difficult to jump for balls, strike headers on target, hold up the ball...hang on a sec...

I still think he'll be an excellent player - next season

Seeing as how Barton was apparently personally responsible for every goal ever scored against us in our entire history, Cort should be able to score 7 or 8 tomorrow. Mind you, it'll be tight, because Robert is apparently personally responsible for every goal conceded since Barton left so it might end up 8-8.

I with you totally here Softie. Is it just me, or are we a lot less patient and more willing to blame players than we used to be? I could just about understand it if we were fighting relegation again, but we're showing so much promise (albeit not enough consistency).

Chopra is travelling, but won't even be on the bench according to the Chronic. Will watch the game from the dugout. Bellamy expected back v Charlton.

when you're fighting relegation you get a gallows humour and cling to the 'funny' side of it all, you rejoice in Barton (say) applauding the fans for turning up and cheering them on as we get stuffed again, and again. when you're winning the idiosyncarcies of the poorer players don't seem funny they seem to be magnified and ever more horrible, rather than a collective crapness where it's difficult to single out an individual error.

You know how if you drop a cat out a window it'll land on its feet, and if you drop a slice of toast it'll land butter side down, well if you tie a piece of toast butter side up, to the back of a cat and chuck them out a high window will it spin so fast that it'll never reach the ground at all. Or LR v WB tomorrow

Good point Pete. We seem to suspend realism when we watch the kind of crap that was dished up Monday. It's only when the garbage is just a memory we switch back into realistic mode.

I suppose it's the impatience for success that keeps flipping us over into doom and gloom.

I thought that cat monorail plan was a brilliant idea.

More on toast trouble here

"Arriva regretfully announce delays in their monorail service this morning; cat licked toast clean." Hmmm.
