Today, April 10, we members of the Catholic Church family honor, in a special way, the following friends of God -- saints whose souls are now in heaven:

Bl. Antony Neyrot (Italian, Dominican priest, kidnapped, repentant apostate, martyred by stoning in Tunisia in 1460)
St. Apollonius of Alexandria (Egyptian, early martyr)
St. Bademus (Persian [Iranian], nobleman, abbot, tortured and martyred by beheading in 376)
St. Bede the Younger (French, court official, Benedictine monk, d. 883)
Sts. Beocca, Ethor, and about 90 companions (English ... abbot, priest, and monks ... martyred by Danish invaders c. 870)
St. Ezekiel (Israelite, Old Testament prophet, 6th century B.C.)
St. Fulbert of Chartres (Italian, bishop in France, counselor to leaders, d. 1029)
St. Gajan (Dacian [Romanian], deacon, martyred in 4th century)
St. Macarius of Ghent (Pisidian [Turkish], patriarch of Constantinople, pilgrim in Europe, died in Belgium in 1012)
St. Madelaine (Italian, orphan, catechist, nurse, member of Daughters of Charity, d. 1835)
St. Malchus of Waterford (Irish, Benedictine monk in England, bishop, d. 1110)
Bl. Mark Fantucci (Italian, lawyer, Franciscan priest, missionary preacher, d. 1479)
St. Michael de Sanctis (Spanish, orphan, merchant's apprentice, Trinitarian priest, monastic superior, d. 1625)
St. Palladius of Auxerre (French, abbot, bishop, d. 661)
St. Paternus of Abdinghof (Irish, Benedictine hermit in Germany, d. 1058)
Sts. Terence, Africanus, Pompeius, and 47 companions (African, tortured and martyred by beheading in 250)
