I had quite a decent Economics lesson today.

One kid had a vendetta against Sunderland and came up with these two lines which had me laughing, but I was also thinking it's not really that funny:

1) Describe a characteristic of a less developed country - thousands of people wandering around wearing red and white stripy tops.

2) We furthered the discussion, and it got onto the poverty line, after which he explained that the poverty line was the new Metro extension to Sunderland. I know I shouldn't have, but I couldn't stop laughing.
