Jacko, the square brackets are on the right hand side of the keyboard, near the top, normally row 3. Lower case. Trust this helps :-)

Somehow, it seems you may have typed summat like

/xmp[B]/exmp.

BTW - I think you'll find a record is round, has a hole in the middle and is usually black. I guess the last bit is the closest I can think of to do with a minute's silence.
