Pulitzer Prize photos

OK, so I don't know if any of them were taken with Leicas, but the award-winning "Feature" photos are "Leica-style" and certainly could have been shot with LM's (I posted this in the 24-hour photo.net forum):

Yesterday the New York Times won a record 7 Pulitzers (old record was 3 in one year), largely for its coverage of Sept. 11 and its aftermath (lest you think they had the subject handed to them, no other New York paper won a single prize--except the Wall St. Journal, which kept publishing despite having to evacuate its offices).

The Times won a rare "double" in photography, for both "Breaking News" (Ground Zero) and "Feature" (Afghanistan).

An online slide show of both photography awards is viewable under the "2002 Pulitzers Focus on Sept. 11" story by Felicity Barringer on the Times' home page, www.nytimes.com

(I believe that first-time visitors to nytimes.com will have to sign in, but in several years of having been signed in with them I've never gotten a single e-mail related to the Times.)

As another photo.net poster noted, at least some of the photographs may also be viewed at www.pulitzer.org
