SFILL---how well does it work on the SF-20 flash?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I'm thinking about getting a SFILL for my SF-20 flash. I went to the website, but the SFILL's are not available at this time. Anyone have any good or bads thoughts on the SFILL?

Only good thoughts: transforms horrible snapshot harsh light into very useable light. Especially useful at head and shoulder framing distances.

It's better than without, but it is not a panacea. You still have direct on camera flash. Vertical shots are still less successful unless you use a bracket, but if you are going to use a bracket then you might as well get a more powerful flash, which might then have enough power to usefully bounce flash. I recommend it: but don't expect beautiful light - just better results than without it.
