Tamrac Zoom 14, nice for Leica M

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Got my Tamrac Zoom 14 in today in black, and the Leica M with my 75mm lux fits in it nicely (as well as the 35). For those occasions when you want some compact protection against light bumps and weather, this small shoulder camera/zoom bag should do well. I plan to wear it diagonally across to my side, for comfort and access. Also, M Rock makes a similar one, but perhaps not quite as nice as the Tamrac as far as padding and ease of opening. A welcome addition to my Billingham for when I need only 1 camera and 1 lens at a time.

PS: it's interesting to note this model is made in China, unlike a lot of their products.

James- We're counting on you for more detail than that! How does the Camera sit in the bag? With the lens facing forward? How much other stuff fits in the bag? The flash? Another lens? What does that Tamrac cost? Any provision for inclusion of table top tripod? How does the top close? Zippers? How many pockets?

When I first snapped the 75 'lux on the M4-P and picked up my present Tamrac bag, I though I had my Fuji-690 in there again! I don't mind the weight, though, with such a fine lens. Present Tamrac bag is about 10" wide, 8" deep, 6 1/2" high. :)

Well, the website is pretty thorough in describing it, but I'll throw some info at ya'all. Lens faces downwards, accomodates probably any M lens attached the the M, room inside above the camera for thin miscellania, small front pouch for film, filters, etc. Weather resistant cordura (I believe), zippered top with a perimeter flap/latch. You can add accessory pouches that attach to the strap/bag. High quality, and light. Well padded. Extra info. on the website.

Oh yah, bought at B&H for 20.50 bucks! So, a 20 spot gets u in. Forgot to add the compartment above the camera is zippered. It lacks a tad bit in really firm structure, but is padded nicely.
