As Per symes timely reminder...

Cheers, steveT. Just about to embark on my prematch rituals, give uz a mo. Hasn't it been quiet on here of late??

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Afternoon from Annapolis. Fingers crossed I can manage to get a webcast through the firewall again. I've got Talksport on now, which is broadcasting the match, but for some reason they cut off internet broadcast of the direct broadcast link from 730p, yet the Fulham website carries the same feed from 755p! this makes no sense!!

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Ciara - now why would you choose to listen to TalkSport and deny yourself the pleasure, nay, joy, of listening to our chaps on Metro?

Syme, the match threads are always sparsely populated when the match is televised, even more so if it's at home.

This is the first telly-match that I've not been in the pub for this season.... :(

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Is the metro webcast on yet? I'll give it another try, but for some reason that one is usually blocked by the firewall here

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

...that would be why. ;-)

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

What time is the kick-off? is it 8pm U.K. time?

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! I've gotten Metro! They must have reconfigured the firewall here, because I've never gotten non- embedded audio before.

'Course, I may switch over to Fulham's broadcast anyway if I get too annoyed with our announcers. ;-)

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Yep, 8pm, sounder

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Waiting to hear the full line-up, but Metro are talking about our midfield tonight...Speed is back in alongside Solano, Dyer and Robert

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Given, Hughes, Distin, O'B, Elliott, Solano, Dyer, Speed, Robert...

Dabs on the bench tonight!

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

No, no, no Ciara. That's missing the point. Although audio only, extra entertainment can be obtained from the internet match experience.

Frothing at the mouth, spitting over your monitor and, often, bleeding from the eyes in rage because of the Metro Commentary team adds that authentic matchday 'heart-attack atmosphere' often missing from watching on TV...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Oh, and Gary Speed has now become a hero to me. Idiot Metro Man interviewed him, asked what the worst part of being injured. Speed answered that it was sitting alongside him in the commentary booth (what match was that?). IMM said, "It wasn't that bad, was it?". Speed answered, "Yes". :-D

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Well, since I'm sat at work, frothing at the mouth and sputtering curses(I don't seethe silently) at the screen would be frowned upon. I usually prefer to save that experience for home where I can really let loose. ;-))

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Cort and Shearer up front

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Haha great answer!

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Oh, and once they cut back to the live broadcast, IMM tried to say Speed was referring to Mick Martin. Martin pointed out that IMM was sitting in between himself and Speed, so Speed could only have referred to one person. Great moment. :-)

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Just wrestled the laptop back off wor lass.

Glad to see (hear?) that the Metro 'two tin cans and a bit of string' audiophile high-fidelity experience is as good as ever.

Ciara - you listen at work? Jesus. How come you haven't been sacked yet?

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

State agency. ;-)

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Minute's silence pretty well observed I'm glad to note. Apart from a blaring radio in the press box...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Goma getting a resounding boo.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Ooh, Wor Al close with a header...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

I'm back, owt doing??

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Not too much Syme although we aren't doing TOO badly. Yet.

I'll relax when we're 3 goals up with 5 mins left and not before thank you...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

awnly three steve?? I'll not be happy till I've seen it on TV tonight, just to confirm the win (assuming of course we do win)

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

YES!!!....errr, Dyer, I think. :-D

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Goallllllllllllll!!!!!!! Dyer!!!!

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Evening all Just about to sign on when DYER calmy runs through and finishes clinically

Worth the £8.00 so far

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Bob, what are ye payin 8 pound for?? Is it on a ppv basis where you are??

ps. Get in dyer sonna

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Just before the goal, a great exchange between Metro Pillock and Mick Martin.

Re. Goma...

MP - Newcastle is an acquired taste. MM - (Defensive) It's a great place to live MP - Err.. yeah obviously. And players will never get a better welcome than here. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else... MM - You've only been here a few months... (obviously gritting his teeth)...

MM just went up in my estimations...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Brilliant stop from Shay to pluck the ball off Sahas feet

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Given saves a Saha shot

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

AAAAGGHHHH *virtually slams head against desk*. So MP isn't even a native of the region????

Could somebody please explain...HOW THIS IDIOT GOT THIS JOB?!!!!! *seethefumespitcursemutter*

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Y'see Ciara? Aren't you enjoying this? Isn't it theraputic?

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

yeah Syme Sky Premiership plus

The commentator here wondered why the crowd were not best friends with Goma.

It's a good job Fulham are crap up front .. we seem to be giving them too much space in front of our goal

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Another one before the break, c'mon lads. Who's on the bench???

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

This radio stuff is a friggin nightmare, seems so much more civilised to sream and kick the TV knaa wot ah meen lyke??

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Jenas dropped to bench for speed -- Shame -- He is miles better Speed very quiet. Dabizas with a Virus Harper LLL

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

I've heard that Harper LLL Virus is highly contagious.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

And I gather you were trying to get a dose of said Virus, Ciara ;-)

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

BBC text commentary seems to be giving Goma a lot of credit in defence so far. Is he playing well?

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Nah, I've been innoculated.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

The problem with an 8pm ko for me is that I will have to leave before the final whistle. So we need to get at least 5more goals in the next 30min so I can leave without worry that I'll get home to find out we snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

HT must do better, if we win 13 - 0 we will have the same goal difference as Chelsea.

Hoping for a big big improvement in the 2nd half

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Frustrating in Ramsgate courtesy of SKY

Cort and Shearer does not work

No width apparent - despite Nobby and Robert

No pattern or rythym

well taken goal by dyer

await part two

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

seems to be a bit of chat about Robert's contribution and his happiness up in Gods country. MM is saying that if he can't be happy playing football in front of 50,000 people every other week then he can't be happy anywhere. Zico does have a point.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Ciara - time to volunteer for overtime?

Those watching - is Robert doing well? He's not according to Metro...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Part 2 game on

No subs on

HO WAY THE LADS

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

I missed that Syme - heedphones off - and posted at the same time.

MM has a point, may God forgive me for saying so...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Can't stay, have an appointment to get my hair cut. Thought ko was 745p, so wouldn't have been a problem. And can't put off the haircut as I've got an interview on Friday. Bad planning on my part.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Friday? How long does a haircut take in the States?

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

I don't think this is Roberts best performance so far...time yet

Cort over the bar from 4 yards from a corner

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Takes a few days for my hair to settle down after a cut. It's not like guys who can just get it shaved and not have to worry about it. ;-))

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Robert shot almost in.....cmon lads!!!!! give us another couple of goals in the next 15min!

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Robson talking to Jenas on line looks like he will be coming on soon

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Great run by Dyer Centre to Cort who was dubiously ruled offside...and he managed to get it into the net

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Toon Army temporarily awakened.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Sounds like there is nothing out wide.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

How come Fulham are playing in white?? Don't they have to have different colour shorts, since both teams have black shorts??

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Maybe they're wearing white shorts?

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Jenas on for Cort

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

What's the sub situation? Did Jenas come on for Speed or Cort? I missed something here....

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Doh....guess I could have just waited for you to post, Bob.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Right, I'm outta here. Hope to log back in later to see we got 3 points!

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Sorry Typing is not one of My strong points...

Robert booked

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

SHIT

Shot in hits Saha on the Knee and bounces in

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

C ya later Ciara.

Why aren't we dominating this? That's not Manure fan-style arrogance, but we're gonna let one in here.....

Oh shit...

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

That wasn't my fault everyone! I was just saying...

Oh bollox with it. We will do very well to get 4th place methinks. Where is the team I saw at Christmas?

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

I can see the CL slipping away.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

We will have to play an awful lot better than this against weak opposition...to even stay in 5th

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Hey, isn't this part of our "easy run-in"? ((C) Everyone)

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

How very depressing. So much for the easier run in.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

That'll be that then. What a sack of shit.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

ALL OVER

That is so dissappointing after the demolition of Everton... Personally I think Speed is a waste of space..he did nothing We allowed fulham to get to us. They worked their socks off and looked like they were much hungrier for the game

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Just caught the end of that.

Sounded like lads were booed off in the fine tradition of last season.

50,000 home supporters realizing that the team might not even be in the UEFA Cup let alone the Champs League.

Once again I blame Mark Lawrenson. Fekker predicted a Newcastle banker.

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Geez. I leave you lot alone and you can't manage to hold onto a 1 goal lead for the final 15min! :-(

-- Anonymous, April 08, 2002

Now Now Ciara....keep your hair on!
