What is the meaning of Edgar Allen Poe's Poem Alone? What does it describe and try to say?

The first part of "Alone" clearly illustrates he didn't feel he was normal. He wasn't like the other kids growing up. Whether that bothered him or not, one can't be sure. And whether the demon in his view was a curse on his life is also arguable.
