2001 Employment Budget Summary

This link will open a copy of the 2001 Employment Budget Summary. It's the same summary that's on paper, in the last August's report, but putting it on the web page that will open keeps it handy...

A couple of notes about it:

  • 2000 Cost is just that: The costs for the 2000 event.

  • 2001 Target: The beginning amounts for the 2001 budget which was the 2000 Cost minus 8%.

  • 2001 Projected: The amount we calculated everything was would cost after everyone had been hired at the end of July.

  • "Diff" is the difference between what we projected and what the "target" was.

  • % Over/Under: The percent the "2001 Projected" amounts were either over or under the "2001 Target."

  • 2001 Actual: The 3 columns on the right side of the sheet are based on the actual figures that came from the 2001 payroll (checks) reports. The first column is the actual amount; the second (Diff) is the difference between the "2001 Actual" amounts and the "2001 Target"; and the last column is the percent that amount was over or under the target...

Also, the Ranch House was calculated to include Food services (Lisa Hepula), and Ticket Sales only. Paul's Ranch House food sellers amount of $363, and Phyllis's $731.75 for secretaries, were not included here because they were not included in the intial budget figures this is based on…

Cleanup (night, day and after fest), were taken out of the summary too because they were contracted, and weren't a part of the employment budget last year.

Which reminds me: Cleanup IS included in the other spreadsheet linked here (this year's "Thursday Calculator"), but the figures there need to be looked at more closely. They were thrown together quickly and are based on night cleanup only (of the bowl area). They MAY be fairly close, but they should be thought about in order to get the accurate as possible "starting point" picture...

Just use your browser's Back (and Forward) button to return here if you want to refer back to the notes above, and when you're finished looking at the spreadsheet. If you have any questions, or there are things you'd like to point out about what you see, just click the "Contribute an answer" button below, type it, click "Submit," the software will "post" it under this note, then email me a copy of it, and I'll do what I can to answer (or remember) whatever it is...

Here's that same link again that will take you to the summary...

P.S. I notice that when I open the spreadsheet, a couple of the lines are scrunched together. If that happens when you open it, just click the "Refresh" (or "Reload") button on your browser's toolbar. That straightens it right out...
