Best type of music to roll to/Good techno?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : North Carolina Raves : One Thread

I'm just getting into techno and rollin' and I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions for either good music to roll to or even better, names of good trance/house/jungle/etc. CD's or DJ's. Just curious.

Peace out.

Hey! The first trance CD that I bought and rolled to was called Trance Stimulii (you can buy it at best buy or media play)- it's the phattest CD I have ever heard, danced to, etc. Highly recommended!!! There is now a Trance Stimuli Version 2.0 which is also fabulous- those discs are made by a company called Neurodisc and all of their CDs are great (Trance fixed, Trance Impulse are two others that I have and love) ALSO, buy some DJ Baby Anne (Bass Queen in the Mix 1 & 2, Dark Side of the Boom) Those are my favorites, but I have tons more suggestions if you want them- e-mail me! :) Melissa

best rolling music...

cd's (in order of suggestion): orbital - orbital 2 <-- EXCELLENT boards of canada - music has the right to children boards of canada - in a beautiful place out of the country ep boards of canada - twoism ep dj shadow - endtroducing portishead - dummy cinematic orchestra - motion wagonchrist - musipal

dj mixes (most can be found on the internet): paul oakenfold - tranceport (quite possibly all time favorate) paul van dyk - ministry of sound session oakenfold, pete tong & seb fontaine - ministry of sound adam beyer - live @ motor 5-5-00

word of adivce : dont listen to drum n bass (aka jungle) whiel you're rolling. i produce drum n bass and am quite succesful at it (like to remain anonymous, thank you :-) ) and i do love it, but it is not the type of music to really put me in the mood. its pretty hard and agressive unless youre listening to jump-up which really sucks.

and don't listen to happy hardcore. youre better off listening to your old skool '86 nintendo make music.

try for more trance and downtempo beats. alot of artists off the label ninja tune are pretty good to listen to.

All guys and specially Girls Should check out this song... in fact i dare anyone (no disrespect) to find a better song than this:

Dj Sakin & Friends - Miami

this song gets you really pumped up...chills you out and then pumps you up even more... the transitions from one beat to another are soooo smooth you don't even notice them but it takes you on a real trip, specially after the "helicopter" sound effect. the song peaks around the 8 min... if you have a nice smooth ride (I have bmw 330ci) try driving full speed with this song.

other songs like this are (in no particular order they're all #1 songs to have 100% essentials)

Derb - Derb (maybe too played out for lot of people) Dj Tiesto - Traffic Dj Quicksilver - Arabic Mix Darude - Ecstacy /(peaks around min 2:15) Oliver Lieb - Subraumstimulation /(pumps you up like crazy) Safari Duo - Played A Live /(if you've never heard this song before you will love me just for ever suggesting it, best song ever ever ever really played live) Ibiza - Energy 52 (Cafe Del Mar 98) Dj Tiesto - Sunset on Ibiza

Louie DeVito -Ecstacy /(i love this song particualrly) getting into move vocal type songs, the most hardcore I know are mostly by Faithless

Faithless - God Is A DJ " - We come One " - Insomnia (may be too played out for some, but i love it, it sooo applies to me) Robbie Rivera - Sex /(awesome song)

i also have a great collection of vocal more techno type songs like:

Paul Oakenfold - Send Me an Angel Eric Pridz - Call On Me Dj tiesto - love comes again Junior Jack - Stupidisco /(great video on this song) Add n to X - Plug Me In /(even better video)

i can't make this comment any longer it may bore you... but if you think i have GREAT TASTE for trance music or you think you have EVEN BETTER please please feel free to contact me, challenge me, suggest even better songs i spend quite some time looking for the next better song they are some new great songs being played in clubs here in Miami, i still don't know they're names.... they're also lots more songs that are my favorite that i'm not mentioning because either someone else already did in this post or like i said i made this tooo long... bye mrandyjh@hotmail.com (786)356-9680

94 ARDCORE!!! Mate if you want some class tunes, only but the 1989- 1996 hardcore is needed. (Personal opinion of course) It has the vibe, the atmosphere & it will make you smile till your eyebrows fall off. I am assumin DJ Awesome or whatever (an answer above) is referring to the cheesy bangin 1998+ happy. I also reckon he is saying this because you guys in the US aint got shit in the way of hardcore and never have. I've been there, so I'm not talkin out of my arse. Everybody rags on happy hardcore, mainly because they haven't ever heard the true hardcore. Try some classy 1992-94 breaks from the likes of Seduction, DJ Sy, the god himself Slipmatt, Ratpack, PSI, Ellis Dee Ramos & Supreme, or any ol skool crew from London. Look for labels such as Impact, Hectic (my personal favourite) Production House, New Music International (the legendary Tango & Fallout's "Intrigue" is pressed on this!) and FFRR. My reasoning is hard to understand if you didn't experience the original raves and the vibe that the piano's, classy-as vocals & amen breaks provided - there was nothing and still is nothing quite like it. Jungle has brought the scene down and depressed. Trance is shite to dance to and is usually only good (personal opinion again) after a shite-load of acid or in the chillout room. Nu-skool breaks are not even worth mentioning. Get back to the roots people, where's the fuckin vibe anymore??? Thats right, there ain't one because the music doesn't create the same atmosphere anymore. Raves were originally to bring happiness & love to a generation of haters, and thats how the music was made at the time. If you want a couple of sample tunes and/or CD's, drop m a line and I will fix you up. I'm always willing to spread the word of old to nu-skool ravers, gotta keep it alive. ~~TOP ONE, NICE ONE, GET SORTED!!!~~

k, what does it mean to roll? you mean when your doing drugs? bad people!

-- Anonymous, February 18, 2005

4 the clubheadz volume II featuring MIxin Marc is the absolute shit!!!! try it you'll love it

-- Anonymous, February 22, 2005

Hey Rachael, FYI: That track is called "Blow Ya Mind." Good stuff. Not sure who made it originally but there's like a mil. remixes of it. The best of which (i think) is a speed garage mix by Kid Icarus. DJ Icey's mix of it is also good.

-- Anonymous, February 23, 2005

Oh, and my thoughts for best track to roll to is a euro-trance one by Accuface called 'Re-energize Your Soul'

-- Anonymous, February 23, 2005
