Hi there:)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : People Photography : One Thread

I've been trying desperately to give you guys some cool space since the greenspun demise. I am not a web programmer, and I have run into problem after problem. I want to give you your own space, your own id, a graphic interface that's easy, and I even want to include my own little side of things. I'm getting nowhere fast, and I want you to know I'm around but I'm pre-occupied with moving things beong 1997.

Here's what I've been working on.

our new page

It sucks right now. You need IE5.5 or 6 to view it. You need cable. Geesh.

I could really use some advice.

Yep, it's a mess. I'm learning how to program and it's slow going. My efforts are up right now more to get help than anything else.

PPF: I think I should explain that People Photography Forum won't change at all, I'm merely offering a link to it in my site. Things will go on as always here.

I'm getting a server so that members, and others, can have a space to upload their photos, and I may adopt a nicer user interface to get photos online at PPF, but that's it.

I'm going to be starting forumSpace based on vBulletin or EXbulletin, but that's months down the road, and won't affect PPF at all.

Well, I said a while back I was writing a facsimile of the ACS q-and-a system, and now it's very close to completion. You can look at the test version at http://joshwand.com/q-and-a/.

There are still a few bugs to be ironed out, and some features aren't implemented yet (email notifications, user profiles, automatic photo.net URL parsing), but it's 90% of the way there.

This could be integrated with Shawn's site in some way, I'm sure, in the future.

Email notifications are working now on my site...

Hey Josh, that interface is great. Is there any way it could be 'automatic' to PPF? I think it would make a big difference for a large number of people who don't want to do the html thing...shawn
