looking for massage techniques available on the internet

greenspun.com : LUSENET : AMTNSW : One Thread

I'm trying to find information about more techniques on how to massage people properly. Can you give me some internet sites that I can look at.

Hello Suzanne,

The internet provides a vast knowledge of information but it does not offer real practical skills.

You may try and emulate a description but there is nothing better than having someone spend some time showing you how to do it. The A.M.T. promote further education and that is primarily to help you become a better therapist.

Now you can try and be lazy, or cheap or you can expect "osmosis" through the internet to help you with your skills, but I would suggest you take a look at attending some practical seminars.

We offer Courses at Peridor Health Schools (02)93872319 for Graduated Massage Therapists that will also give you CEU's for the AMT and I would be silly not to mention that here. But there are other Education facilities which offer courses which will complement and advance your skills. Try as many as are communicative with you.

There are Courses offerred by the Myofascial release Centre, Australian School of Reflexology, to start with...and there are many other recommended schools by the AMT. there are also many other courses out there but I would recommend asking what they offer as there is a comparable offer in education standards.

You might also remember that courses you attend are tax deductable since you are a therapist already. The "quick fix" is just that and if you care about the quality of what you offer then now is the time to think.

Cheers...Mark Philip Deal (Peridor Health Schools)
