I don't know how effective this may be, but I thought I'd put it out here in case anyone wants to know about it!

American Justice for Americans -- No International Criminal Court for Us

April 4, 2002

Dear friend of liberty,

The International Criminal Court (ICC) will soon become a reality. The United Nations will hold a celebration for their new world court on Thursday, April 11, 2002 in New York and Rome.

The International Criminal Court will claim judicial supremacy over the United States and its people. We are asking President Bush to make it clear to the International Criminal Court that the supreme law of our land is the Constitution of the United States -- not the ICC. Rescinding the American signature to the ICC treaty that former President Bill Clinton authorized would clearly express that conviction.

If you haven't signed the petition to President Bush, please do so now. We are in the process of preparing the petitions for delivery to the White House.

While you have him on the line Doreen you should ask him to rescind all laws that the US has made and that he thinks apply to NON-US citizens!

Is there one we can print up, sign and snail-mail? I don't believe that email petitions have any clout - too easy to duplicate, and congressmen/presidential offices getting swamped with letters written and SIGNED by constituents is proven to be effective. The idea of some flunky in an office just deleting emails leads me to the above question.

Judi, what you also said applies to form letters as well--I agree that paper is more effective than email, but form letters are vastly inferior to an individually handwritten or typed letter from a constituent on any subject.

Computer printed letters actually recieve the best attention. No one wants to wade through an individuals handwriting anymore. But yes a short, to the point letter written from your point of view is supposed to be the most effective. Along with phone calls. But I simply can't find the number right now. I know it's around here somewhere!
