Urgent-- SOOEY 13077P, what is that, Summarit?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

Hi, I found a "SOOEY 13077P" red filter for sale, for a summarit lens. It looks like some kind of filter which would be screwed onto a lens, but it looks like it is designed for a smaller filter size than the sumamrit (I think Summarit is 42, this looks about 38mm).

Anyone have any idea what this is? Can I use it on my summarit, if not, will it fit a summaron 35mm?

Thanks very much, I need to know ASAP because I need to decide to buy it by this evening. Thanks Phillip

I'm personally not sure, but according to the Hove Accessory Guide (2nd Edition), a SOOEY 13077 (1957) adapts Summitar type-L filters for use on 42mm (type "O") lenses.

Ralph is correct. I got one in Decemeber and had a "fun" time trying to figure it out. Used to put Summitar filters on 39mm filter thread lense. Looks like they run about $40-50.
