We're guaranteed 6th at least now, so UEFA at the least

Unless Tottenham win every match and score at least 3 or 4 goals per game, then we're bound to be 6th or better. So UEFA Cup at least is definite now. (isn't it?) Which at the beginning of the season we would all have been very happy about. And we've got 60 points for the first time since 1997-8.

I think 6th spot only gets UEFA if it's a Chelsea/Arsenal cup final. So still lots to play for.

I'm not counting my eggs until the chickens score 100 on their maths exams. Or something liek that. ;-)

A win tonight would have given us a huge psychological edge over Chelsea, but now they might think they have a chance.

If we can't beat Fulham on Monday though, we don't deserve to get in the CL. They've drawn one and lost 7 out of their last 8 games so we HAVE to stuff them, if only to make up the goal difference on Chelsea, bit by bit.

That's interesting, so you mean Leeds if they are 6th will not even get into Europe? Major selling going to happen in the summer there. So Blackburn and the FA Cup Winners and Chelsea or us would be the only English teams in the UEFA Cup. Giving us only 3 teams seems very mean by UEFA! Especially when they allow 4 in the Champs League. Very reversed logic, that. So a place in the UEFA Cup is more exclusive than a place in the Champions League. Goes to show how devalued it has become. The other possibility is that Chelsea could catch us, but we might both catch Man Utd and they would be out of the Champs League. That would be even better! Though if they win this year, then do teams 2nd to 5th in the Premiership go into the Champions League? Sounds unlikely to me. In other words there are so many possible permutations still that it's not worth thinking about yet.

I can't stand the way Chelsea are trying to psych us all out. They keep commenting how they 'want to remind us they are on our tail' etc.

Bloody hell - 5 points ahead would have been great and given the team a real psychological advantage. Remember we still have to play Blackburn and we get nowt there in the league. The very sight of the place brings back the trauma of Fenton and all the disappointment he caused.

In all honesty, this was the game I expected to be the hardest, although we really should have won it after going 1-0 up.

That is the first time we've lost a lead all season I think.

Why we played Solano in centre midfield and Cort wide right (according to Metro) is still giving me a headache. Why do we time and time again change our formation to combat the other team, rather than playing our normal game and let them suffer the consequences. We are the team with the better players and the greater desire to win (in theory) so what's the problem?

The more I think about todays result the more depressed I get, it sounded as though we weren't up for it in the second half. Why is Robert all of a sudden getting subbed, is there a problem?? I hope that bellers and speed are back on monday.

Match reports so far don't read well. Lucky to get a point by the sounds of it. FFS we were playing Villa! Hardly a marauding bunch of classy footballers are they? Got to win all our games now - nothing else will do.

The Toon Army sounded quiet on Metro as well.

Yup 6th spot only gets into the UEFA if Chelsea(definitely) or Arse(?) win the cup...read this morning that Leeds have applied for the 2nd round of the InterToTo just in case....that's a round earlier than most clubs usually go in so it shows how desperate they are to be in europe next season...

Robert was pulled off last game with some sort of minor injury, I guess that was the case now also.
