Do you have a flag pole?

Wondering how many folks have a flagpole? When we moved from the city, my brother (who was a high school principle at the time....at our alma mater) asked me if I wanted the our schools old flag pole. Seems they were remodleing the entrance to the football stadium and it was available. I took my trailer up to the school and we got it. The thing has been sitting in the nearby woods for five years and we finally dug it out last weekend. It is a monster steel pipe, about 22 feet long, with a heavy duty pulley for the flag rope. Gonna give it a couple coats of Silver Rustoleum and paint the round ball on the top a bright red. You can tell the pole was in the city, there are two bullet holes in the fall top. We have ordered a flag from our Congressman, a 5 x 7 footer that flew over the capitial building. During Turkey Season at the end of the month, we'll plant it just to the east of the house. What kinds of set ups to other folks have?

We have one. About 25' high. Every day, rain or shine. My husband rigged it out of a pole with come clothesline pullies. Very crude, but it gets the job done. Underneath it, I have red salvia growing.

We have a 3x5 flag on a 22 ft aluminum pole. It also has a spotlight on it at night. It is a wonderful sight to look out our picture window and see the flag fluttering at night, or anytime for that matter.

Yes, a 30 footer. Need a new flag again, this one is getting tattered on the edges.

We have a 30' flag pole on which we are proud to fly the United States flag and the Texas flag. We have had this since 1995 (when we were married and built this Missouri "ranch") and could not be more proud to be patriotic during these trying times!

Yes, but just on the old tenants house on nice days only, has been there for the past 10 1/2 years we've been here. My children have been pretty responsible on putting it up and down. Finally got a new flag for it last year, the old one was getting tattered. Got an old white tub underneath I always plant red, white & blue flowers in...Looking forward to the warm days ahead to do that in...

Affirmative. 25 ft. aluminum(?) pole. We just buy a new flag every year. Love it and I loved the idea stated above about shining the light on it. I am going to work on that! Thanks! LQ

Well it's in the works. I hate those little yard fart versions, the wall mounts are OK but would get in the BBQ too often. What to do???? I'm making a wooden cannon, wood spoke wheels from an old farm wagon and a turned cedar log barrel. This thing will be full sized and sit at the base of a wood flag pole 35 feet high and surrounded by low/no mait greenery (I just can't garden flowers) High enough to fly a Canadian flag and maybe an Ontario Brit or US one at times. There was a flag pole at Fort Niagra (?)I liked, I'm hoping to copy it. More like a ships mast than a straight pole.

Yep, I'm proud to say we fly the Stars&Stripes, POW-MIA, and Confederate flags from the 30ft flagpole we inherited from hubby's dad.

The very first thing we did after the property closing was clear a spot and install the pole. The flags were flying the next day! The pole is spotlighted 24/7.

It's flanked by two blueberry bushes and palmetto shrubs, and every year we plant cayenne peppers, pinwheel red/white petunias, and white alyssum around it in memory of his dad.

We have had one for so long that our house, in a very rural area, has been called "the post office". We've flown the flag every day for 25 years. Nice to have the recent company. GL!
