Actually to be honest, that would have been Leica's smartest move in a decade.

Or vice-versa

So now all our wonderful VC lenses are actually from the Leica Group...

Hopefully they share some lens design info, because together these two companies have done great things in optics.

Okay Charles,

I was looking for a good April Fools in this forum. How about:

Cosina buys Leica. All Leicas to be named Voigtlanders (like Voigtlander M7).

Leica and Walmart team up to produce one-shot plastic M6.

Proven: Leica Really a Russian Company. All those fake Russian Leicas are real Leicas and all of our Leicas are really fake Leicas.

Oscar Barnack sighted in Salt Lake City.

New low cost Leica motorwinder--Rubber Band Power!

New production methods make M7 as cheap as point and shoots while retaining build quality.

Leica lenses: plastic replaces glass.

Heh, heh, heh.

April Fools!

Cheers,

Alex
