Milkers (goats), kids & bred Boer nannies for sale in MI

greenspun.com : LUSENET : barter board : One Thread

I have 2, 2 year old LaMancha milkers for sale. Both come from show backgrounds, but one is probably best considered a brood-doe as IMHO, her udder isn't that great - she's milking a half gallon a day, but I think that's b/c she was moved to a new house & also not properly cared for by her previous owner. I spoke w/ her breeder & she's out of the best milker in her whole herd, so the potential is there - my plan was to dry her up & focus on getting some weight/growth on her to prepare for a big production year next freshening! ;) She also comes from a long line of show animals & should throw show quality babies.

The other doe has 1 grand champion leg on her & is milking a gallon a day. I also have show quality LaMancha kids for sale (bucks & does) & some bred %Boer does for sale.

I'm asking $200/each for them. . . or best offer . . . or something in trade!

Ideally, I'd like to sell them, but since I need the money for hay, I'd be happy to trade for some good quality hay, some organic grain . . . Angora goats? . . . something to raise on my extra goat milk (ie: lambs, calves, etc.), what do you have? I'm open to suggestions! I just have too many goats right now & the hay fund is running low & need to cut back. While I was here surfing around, I remembered the barter board! Time to get creative!

I live in the tri-state area of MI/OH/IN but am going to eastern PA w/i the next couple weeks, if you're in that area or along the way, somewhere. I also belong to many mailing lists where people pitch in to transport animals all over the U.S., so . . . don't think you're out of the picture if you're a few states away . . . there's always a chance we can find a way to transport something back & forth!

Regards, Sarah Sanders/MI
