Rebel 2000 Malfunction ****NEED HELP****

****I NEED HELP**** I just bought a Rebel 2000 last month. I took a few rolls of film with it. Now when I push the shutter button the shutter closes and stays closed. I have to push the button again to get the shutter to open. No picture is taken and the film doesn't advance. I took the lens off and reseated it and it worked for one picture, then did the same thing. I also replaced the batteries and it took a few pictures. But when I put it away for the night and tried it the next day, it crapped out on me again. Can anyone help me. please e-mail me @ briankbax@hotmail.com

Clean the lens mount contacts on both the lens and the camera. Also clean the battery contacts in both the camera and on the battery. Then try it again. If it still fails, try it without any lens. If it works then, your problem is with the lens, if not, send the camera back to Canon.

By the way, is the lens made by Canon? Some third party lenses cause this.
