Loads of us met up in London for a thrilling 0-0 at Selhurst Park against Wimbledon. I certainly remember Tynedale Man and jonno being there but I've tried so hard to forget that day that some of the people have dropped out too. Not a single shot on goal by either side in 90 turgid minutes of Dalglish Special Brew. F**k me but it helps you realise when you've got it good!

Well thanks for that happy memory Softie. If there is but ONE game that sums up "the team that Dags built", then it was that monument to inanity. Had it been a Saturday game, featured on MotD one shudders to think what they might have come up with as "highlights". There were NONE. The video of the game should be sold in millions to the NHS as a cure for insomnia. It was that bad, and worse.

The gathering in a "friendly" (no football shirts) London pub was a far more entertaining event. I think Min showed up for that one and Branny? London should take lessons from The Golden City, the City of Culture where football shirts rarely cause any bother.

Whenever any attempt is made to defend the TSM regime, this game should be brought back to mind "Lest We Forget".

yees remember it well, but only for the reason that it was the first time I met you lot (that's collective plural and that), had to meet these buugers who I had NO IDEA of thier appearance nor whether they could be closset lunatics (well that was indeed proven out as I can't remember anythin' about the match either)) but I must say never a more pleasant bunch you'd meet and if branny is still lurkin how's it ganni?, you're responsible for me comin back for more even after that! (he got the orignal ticket I recall)

You're quite right Softie to say just how easy it is to forget how far we've progressed since those dark days under Dogleash. I wasn't at that particular game, but still vividly recall that dreadful experience at Wembley that resulted in the Toon Army bellowing in unison "attack..attack, attack..attack..attack".

After hearing a Newcastle crowd chanting that message so forlornly in an FA Cup Final at Wembley, I've always felt that TSM should have resigned immediately and slinked away in disgrace, never to be seen again. Of course, he should have been sacked when he didn't resign, but that's another story.

Hey - that's right Swift - you were down in London with work that week as I recall and we met inside the ground quite by chance I believe, and not in the pub earlier. By that stage of course, I had already lapsed into a zombie-like stupor(from which you've clearly not recovered - Ed) and hence didn't recall that until you mentioned it. Thanks for the offer of a ride back to the station in your taxi btw. I had to decline in the interests of maintaining my integrity here. :-)
