In San Diego for the weekend...any suggestions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Leica Photography : One Thread

I'm spending the weekend in San Diego, my first time in Southern California. Any suggestions for nice photo ops? (Already saw the sea lions at La Jolla beach yesterday.) Also, what about a good shop for Leica?

Thanks, Luke

In addition to the "California Girls" on the beaches, Old Town San Diego, Mission San Diego, and (of course) the world-famous San Diego Zoo are good places to burn lots of film. Not sure about any Leica shops down there.

If you're even partially interested in "street photography," the San Diego Zoo is the place to go - - especially if you like to catch the expressions of youngsters as they see the animals. The humans - - large and small - - are sometimes more interesting than the zoo denizens.

The Zoo is a must. One of the best in the world. Ask about the area where they raise the animals. You go out in a truck and get to inter-act with them.

How about Coronado Island and the world famous " Hotel del" (Coronado) and perhaps the Tijuana Trolley...

Luke, San Diego Crew Classics is April 6th and 7th, in Mission Bay, if you are still in SoCal. Rowing is by far the most beautiful sport. You will want a 90 or 135 to get any good pics on the water.
