I've got a PC with 256Mo of Ram /HD 40 G seagate 5400 rpm / Motherboard QDI Légend/ and the Pinacle studio DV (PCI card). To capture vidéo from My SONY DPC6E I need a data transfer of 4Mo/s. What should i do in order acced this rate with my PC?

First find out if the DV card is a bonafide OHCI FireWire card capable of 400mb/s and is installed correctly and duly seen by Windows, and the appropriate capture/editing program is installed and can control said card. Then turn on the camcorder and connect its FireWire in/out to the FireWire in/ot of said card. That the camcorder is recognized and can be seen by your PC is verified by going to device manager; the camera appears as an "imaging device" everytime it is powered on and connected, and disappears otherwise. DV type-1 transfer rate is about 3.5mb/s, so your 5400rpm HDD may or may not be borderline. All I've said here comes included with the documentation of the Pinnacle Studio DV I believe.

hi there... I have HP pavilian 7965 (60GB, 256MB, P4 1,5Ghz. Nvidia Geforse 2 Mx video card, fire ware card, pinacle studoi DV vers 8.0 and panasonic DV digital video camera)I cant capture my video. When I want to capture this message comes ``SORRY CANNOT CAPTURE THE DATA RATE ON c: IS LESS THAN THE REQUIRED RATE OF 400 KBYTE/SECOND)
and when I check the DATA RATE TEST this message comes ``READ:3434 kbyet/sec WRITE:3954 kbyete/sec DRIVE C: IS NOT CAPABLE OF CAPTURIG DV DATA`` I FOLLOWED THE HELP MENU AND I CHANCED MY IDE DEVICE TO DMA, BUT IT COULD NOT SOLVE MY PROBLEM. I need your help. thank you very much from now

Try a defrag of the drive. That can cause the speed to slow.

1. Also make sure that DMA or Ultra DMA is enable on the hard drive device.2. Depending whether the device is listed as device 0 or 1, may affect the speed over the IDE cable. Try putting your hard drive on the IDE connector at the end of the cable.
3. Also note, that if you have another device using PIO mode on the same IDE cable, it can slow the hard drive transfer rate down. Try putting the hard drive on a IDE cable without any other devices attached.
