WOW!!!

When did this action get going ?? I have never heard of it before.

Little Bit, Has it occured to you that these are a group of Government employees who are supposed to be helping us not mandating BS like this. To make it worse, these Goons are in bed w/ Monsanto and share a patent w/ them for the terminator seed.

Somethin' is all wrong here. I know I'm paranoid, but is it any wonder?

I posted that link at another related website BTW. Will probably go hit the Yahoo groups too. One of my Senators is on the Senate Ag, Nutrition and Forestry commitee. I'll be letting him and others know about this BS.

If you do decide (and I would urge all of you) to contact your represenatives, Phone them and then snail mail them. Email doesn't cut it like the personal touch. No matter what the concern is, a phone call and a letter will get much more results. Senator Lugar told me that himself when I called his office a few years ago for help in an army records matter.

Write away. I will see if I can find the phone number for the offices of congress and post it here later. Fer cryin' out loud. Here is the deal, if they make this a law, the is NO CHOICE but to become a flagrant lawbreaker. I quit. The idea that anyone can even consider this kind of crap is unfathomable.grrrrrrrrrrrrrr..............

I'm kind of puzzled here. I would think these laws are to keep un native plants that are a problem to people ,livestock and enviorment.Like kudzu , Mamosa trees or other trees , plants and weeds that are competing with native plants and taking over.If laws were in affect that resticted transportaion of seeds ,trees and plants 50 or more years ago, the pine trees all over the south east wouldn't be dieing off like they have the tree plauge. It's said that the pine beetle responsible was imported from Germany from imported pine trees brought to the U.S. from there. The Melaluca tree brought from Austrailia is spreading through the everglades in Florida and sucking the everglades dry, changing the envioriment there and costing alot of money and energy to TRY to get rid of them.Kudzu from Japan, which I like cause it feeds my goats all summer , is a vine that kills trees by keeping them from getting light and causes people to spray lots of weed killer that ends up in the water table and in our wells. And the Japaneese beetle that strip our fruit trees of leaves in the summer might not be an un wanted guest in the U.S. if laws were resticting plant and seed materials years ago .What harm will this law on the mentioned web site do? Is it ment to keep us from getting seeds we need for growing food? Someone please explain the harm it will cause.

Thank you Steve, I am a bit bewildered at the ojections also.

In my country tourists admire the rich green fields not knowing that the hills were originally covered by a think beech rain forest. What is left of the rain forest is being consumed by the voracious Australlian 'possum.

Steve, all these foreign plant and insect pests that cause problems were all imported by this very same government that now wishes to control even more of our lives and livelihood. Citizens are so much more consciencious when handling plant materials than our government will ever be. It is just more authority without any true responsibility to American citizens.

On our west coast sand dunes, our brilliant government imported gorse, you know, that spiney stuff that confounds Winnie the Pooh, to stabilize our coastline. It got out of control so now they are importing gorse's only natural enemy, a spider mite.

Why thank you, faceless, brainless, if you didn't have this job you'd be a troll under a bridge, government idiots. I really needed one more species of spider mite to contend with when noxious weeds can be taken out with manual labor, or goats.

Laura, you DOOOOO have a way with words!! I have GOT to remember this one!! (((still laughing......

There doesn't appear to be a specification as to exactly what is a noxious weed. I only scanned the site, maybe I missed something? And yes, the nameless faceless bureaucrats have been the folks that really have done a fantastic job of whacking things. I'm personally concerned over the idea of bringing that fly into our states to control the fireants...what controls that particular fly?? It's like that song, there was an old lady who swallowed a fly...I don't know why, she swallowed a fly...ad nauseum.
