We made it to Missouri...alive (just)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hi all...we made it. the stuff is unpacked, the truck is back to the rental place (on time!), the fence is finally up so the dogs can run free (and run they did - cooped up for over a week either in the back of the truck or my mom's shed) and I've even had a shower! WAHOOO! 30 40 degrees and clammy. Welcome home to Mo.

OH Soni I am so jealous!!!!! We have had a bad ice storm and the electricity is going off and on. Thank goodness for the generator. We only have 10 days until vacation and we will be heading your way. What part of Missouri are you in? We will be staying on the Bull Shoals lake in Isabella. 10 more days!!!! Boy is it gonna seem like 10 years LOL. Glad to hear you are getting settled. Give the dogs a pat pat from me and my pup. Kim :-D

I'm glad you guys made it ok. I was just thinking about you today as I was working on my goat pen and was planning to ask on the forum if anyone had heard from you. Since I can't email cookies, give Sam and Max a big hug from me.

Welcome to Missoureee, from up here near Silex, where the soil is deep and rich and almost no rocks! I love your area, wanted to go down south but jobs interfered. Land is a little more spendy up here, but we got 20 grassy acres. We could use a few of your trees on this farm! Glad to have a new Missourian back with us. I love this beautiful state.

-- Debbie in MO (risingwind@socket.net), March 27, 2002.

I'm in central MO--good to have you.

By the way, Debbie, if you'd gone south, you won't be close enough to visit me easily!

Wow! It is nice to know so many are in my home state. I live in CO (hubby's home state) but I will soon be moving back to MO at the end of this summer. My mom is seriously ill and hubby and I both think it is important for me to be there. I grew up in Platte CO, just north of KC, near where the airport is. Prices are outrageous. Hope to find something affordable or I may just have to live in the back of my truck!!

-- Billie in Co (bbsowell@earthlink.net), March 27, 2002.

WOW! I didn't know there were so many Countrysiders here in MO. We are in the northern part of the state just north of Trenton, 30 min. from the Iowa line. We used to live down in Kingsville until this past fall when we bought our dream place. :) I love it up here!

Howdy and welcome to Missouri. I live in Norwood just south of Gail. And Kim in IN. wow where do you stay in Isabella??? Never seen much there but a bunch of HillBillies and i mean hicks. If you need a Fishing Guide let me know my dad is one of the only Lic. Guides on Bull Shoals lake, He lives just west of Theodosia.

And down south here Debbie we have rocks deep and rich and almost no soil. lol We do have the trees. dale

Welcome to Missouri,Soni!! We live in southeast Missouri not far from Cape Girardeau and the Mississippi River. Hope you settle in happily! Mona Lea in S.E.Missouri

-- Mona Lea (monalea@hotmail.com), March 28, 2002.

hi from central missouri, if i remember right, you are moving near cape girardeau? If you Want some red raspberries, i have plenty.

-- randy in central missouri (rwybrant@coin.org), March 28, 2002.

Sherry! You are the closest I've seen to us. We live in Meadville, not to far from you. We moved to our dream homestead 5 years ago and it has been harder than we thought it would be. I've felt so all alone as far as like minded individuals go. I have noticed lately that there are a lot of homesteaders in Mo. Just glad to know that we are not alone. I am so thankful for this site because it keeps me going when sometimes I just want to give up. Love to all of you!
